Typically, presidential nominees pick running mates who have complimentary characteristics. But what would we all say if McCain announced that his only criterion was for his running mate to be a minority? Maybe a female? Or a Latino to bring diversity. Almost all of America would be incensed!

So trying to be eco-conscious (I do live in California, so I should be on the bus by now) I boldly asked my grocer to give me paper bags. But by the time I reached my apartment, which was only across the street from my car, the handle of one of the bags completely came off! And in that moment I realized – this is why NO ONE uses paper bags!

Senator Barack Obama has come onto the scene in America, “for such a time as this”. I recall the first time I heard him speak. As I listened and watched him I felt a surge of hope and inspiration that I had not felt for some time. Tears began to roll down my face in response to this renewed feeling of hope and confidence in the future of my country.
